Warriors go 2-0 beating Falcons
Srini's comments:
Game highlights from game vs Falcons:
We are now 2/0.. we are on a on-a-hattrick
Warriors - 196 all out in 38.4 overs
Falcons - 159+ something all out in 27 overs
Z - 51, Kumar - 26, Suriya - ?, Nirun -?
Deepak H - 3wkts, Saurabh - 2 wks, Kundal - 2 wks, Suriya - 2wks
Nirun - 2catches, Srini - 1 ct, any more?? don't have scores in front of me.
We won the toss for second time in a row now :) I was thinking to send Ven, our toss winner, but the other team wasn't even at ground. Looks like just the thought of sending ven got us the toss in our favor. Falcons showed up 45 min late and lost toss and 8 overs of game.
Warriors batted first, we got a jolt the very first ball. Saurabh got out trying to go after a bouncer. Z and Kumar handled the situation well to get a good start, 75 or 80 for second wicket. Kundal batted at #2. Having missed the run outs mania last game, Kundal decided to run himselves out. By then Z finished his 50. Right after his he went for a big hit and missing it, got bowled. Srini, Deepak H, Venkat - next 3 wickets fell in a quick succession. Suriya and Nirun played sensibility to make sure we have a good score on card.
Bowling: Kundal was simply on fire...felt like this is new kundal now, after having a good session with bat, he back back to bowl excellent spell and economical. Deepak H went all 7 overs straight and took 3 wks. Saurabh got 2 wkts to send Falcons packing.. he's on a on a hat trick now.
Highlight of the game: Kinda hard to visualize but try...Nirun dived to take a catch when warriors batsman was batting. simply superb dive but ball still sneaked in.. He saved his best rightly for Falcons batting innings.. took a quick reflex catch to send a well set batsman to pavillion, tilting the game ourway.

Fairfax County teachers participate enthusiastically in the Cricket Demo
On August 31st, The Washington Warriors conducted two 55 minute sessions of Cricket with Physical Ed teachers of the Fairfax County Public Schools during their County Inservice Day.
The Warriors presented cricket to the PE teachers, showed them video clips of international cricket and conducted cricket drills. About 80 PE teachers signed up for the two sessions and participated in the drills. Comparisons between Baseball and Cricket were drawn and queries on the game were answered by the Warriors.
Most of the PE teachers took to the game quite naturally and some seemed very good. The participants received T-shirts promoting Cricket and picked up cricket kits for their schools provided by USYCA.
We would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring T-shirts to the participants.
